AbstractAbstract
[en] A portable cylindrical electrostatic fusion device (C-device) was developed. Earlier studies have focused on spherical geometry. Here the authors discuss a related, but radically different cylindrical version which offers great promise for application requiring that geometry. The C-device, operating in a plasma glow discharge mode, has produced neutrons at 106 neutrons/sec for D-D fusion (equivalent to 108 neutrons/sec for D-T fusion). When used as a neutron generator, the C-device is well suited for tomographic diagnosis. Such a neutron generator would have advantages over both a beam-solid target generator and a neutron-emanating isotope. Advantages over a beam-solid target include lower estimated capital cost, longer life expectancy; over an isotope are an on/off capability, minimal radioactive inventory, variable source strength, self-calibrating capability, no storage shield. A detailed description of the device along with preliminary experimental data and an analysis of neutron yield vs. different operating parameters will be presented

AbstractAbstract
[en] The work aims at the design and construction of a 150 kV isolation transformer for a neutron generator. The transformer windings are designed to use cylindrical layers with circular enamel copper wires. The insulation of the dry type transformer uses the epoxy resin for encapsulated winding. This insulation is non-flammable under temperature 350 degree celsius and the breakdown voltage is 10-18 kV/mm. This insulation is suitable for insulating high voltage. The design of provides the temperature rise of winding not exceeding 65 degree celsius for protection of the cracking of epoxy resin due to the expansion of winding

AbstractAbstract
[en] The factors affecting the energy of neutrons produced in generators with sealed tubes are presented. The change in the energy of neutrons interacting with the structural materials of the generator is not examined. The analysis will be useful to specialists doing practical work with neutron generators.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The examples of experimental studies of oil stratum debit restoring by method of ultrasound influence to stratum are given. The method of control of such unprocessed oil stratum restoring is proposed. It uses well neutron generator with vacuum accelerating tube and neutron reagent method with pumping of neutron absorbing salt solution to stratum. The results of its successful testing are presented. (paper)
