AbstractAbstract
[en] Existence and properties of spontaneously fissioning isomers are discussed as consequences of a double fission barrier. The measurement of the quadrupole moment of the fission-isomeric state by the new developed method for the determination of lifetimes of excited states yields to a prolate shape of the the nucleus. The deformation ratio is 2:1 in the second minimum of the fission potential. (orig./WL)

Existenz und Eigenschaften spontan spaltender Isomere werden als Konsequenz einer doppelhoeckrigen Spaltbarriere diskutiert. Die Messung des Quadrupolmoments im spaltisomeren Zustand mit Hilfe einer neu entwickelten Methode zur Bestimmung der Lebensdauern angeregter Kernzustaende ergibt eine zigarrenfoermige Gestalt des Kerns mit einem Achsenverhaeltnis von 2:1 und erbringt damit den quantitativen Nachweis der extrem grossen Kerndeformation im zweiten Minimum des Spaltpotentials. [en] The following tabel is a compilation of quadrupole interaction frequencies νsub(Q)(1) νsub(Q) = e x Q x Vsub(z)sub(z)/h observed in pure metals and at the site of dilute impurities in metallic host lattices. In eq.(1) e is the positive elementary charge, Q the spectroscopic nuclear quadrupole moment, Vsub(z)sub(z) the second derivative of the electrostatic potential at the nuclear site (major axis system, z-axis direction of largest component) and h is Plank's constant. The axial asymmetry parameter of the electric field gradient is given by:(2) eta = Vsub(x)sub(x) - Vsub(y)sub(y)/Vsub(z)sub(z). Data published up to July 1980 have been taken into account. All experimental values are expressed in terms of the quadrupole interaction frequency, as defined by eq.(1). The entries are listed in the order of increasing atomic number of the probe. Energy, spin, half-life and, where available, the quadrupole moment of the level are given for each probe. (orig./HOF)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Based on the rotationally invariant core model a simple expression is derived which relates the electric quadrupole moments of quasi-rotational states of even-even nuclei to the excitation energies of the corresponding levels. This relationship is successfully tested on available experimental data. Also a comparison is made with other simple approaches for transitional quadrupole moments deduced from intraband B(E2) values. (orig.)

Gestuetzt auf das rotationsinvariante Kernmodell wird ein einfacher Ausdruck abgeleitet, der die elektrischen Quadrupolmomente quasirotierender Zustaende von Kernen mit jeweils gerader Protonen- und Neutronenzahl mit den Anregungsenergien der korrespondierenden Niveaus in Beziehung setzt. Diese Beziehung wird erfolgreich an vorhandenen experimentellen Daten getestet. Ausserdem wird ein Vergleich gefuehrt mit anderen einfachen Naeherungen fuer Uebergangsquadrupolmomente, welche von Intraband-B (E2)-Werten abgeleitet sind. (orig.)Primary Subject
