AbstractAbstract
[en] New experimental results recently reported for matter radii of 22,23O are significantly smaller than previous values. Our potential-model calculations agree with experiment for the entire chain from A=17 to 23, so that, within the experimental uncertainties, the data can be explained without considering any modification of the core. AbstractAbstract
[en] We have updated the isotopically invariant Dunham fit of O2 with newly reported literature transitions to derive (1) the energy levels, partition sums, band-by-band molecular constants, and RKR potentials for the X3Σg−, a1Δg, and b1Σg+ states of the six O2 isotopologues: 16O16O, 16O17O, 16O18O, 17O17O, 17O18O, and 18O18O; (2) Franck-Condon factors for their a1Δg−X3Σg−, b1Σg+−X3Σg−, and a1Δg−b1Σg+ band systems. This new spectroscopic parameterization characterizes all known transitions within and between the X3Σg−, a1Δg, and b1Σg+ states within experimental uncertainty and can be used for accurate predictions of as yet unmeasured transitions. All of these results are necessary to provide a consistent linelist of all transitions which will be reported in a followup paper

AbstractAbstract
[en] We study the radius and energies of oxygen isotopes towards the neutron drip-line. The abrupt increase of the radius at 23O is investigated with two different approaches; the m-scheme cluster-orbital shell model (COSM) and a simplified model approach with the core plus one and two valence neutrons. We investigate properties of the oxygen isotopes by changing the radius of the 16O-core in the m-scheme COSM approach and obtain the result that the broad structure of 16O is favored in the 23O and 24O. In the simplified model approach, we estimate the magnitude of the change of the size of 22O in 23O and 24O. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The delta18O and delta17O values of olivine from Kenna are 7.6 and 3.0 parts per thousand respectively, relative to SMOW. These values are typical of ureilites which form a unique group on a delta17O- delta18O graph. The ureilites are related to, but not directly derived from, the anhydrous phases of C2 and C3 meteorites. The 18O/16O fractionation between pyroxene and olivine is 0.60, indicating a temperature of last equilibration of 1000 +- 1000C. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The 18O/16O ratio under the m- and r-faces of smoky quartz has been measured; the ratio of the growth velocities was vm/vr=1/3. The obtained separation factor 1.00020 is compared with that obtained previously for amethyst (1.00043), where the ratio vm/vr was unity. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The concentration of 18O within well formed crystals of amethyst was found to vary beneath the different growth faces, increasing in the order z → r → m. The 18O/16O fractionation factor between the faces m and z was measured as 1.0007. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Measurements of the 14N15N/14N14N and 16O18O/16O16O Raman intensity ratios have been made in air samples and pure gas samples. A high-resolution double monochromator was used with a C31034A-02 PM tube to count the photons scattered from a low-powered laser beam (1--2 watts). Standard high-speed modular electronics (approximately 10 ns resolution) were used to process the output pulses. The ΔJ = 0 vibrational bands of 14N15N and 16O18O were observed to be essentially free of all interference except dark noise of approximately 3 counts/sec. The adjacent rotational structure of 14N14N and 16O16O showed no appreciable overlap with the ΔJ = 0 bands of interest. Detailed spectra, comparison of the Raman intensity ratios with mass spectrometer isotope ratios, and Raman cross section data for 14N15N and 16O18O are presented. The applicability of Raman scattering as a technique for precision measurement of isotope ratios is discussed
