AbstractAbstract
[en] Two topics concerning jet phenomenology at collider energies are discussed. i) Jet reconstruction using a digital prefiltering of the energy flow. ii) Discriminating jets of interest (originated by top particles, W+-, Z0, Higgs etc.) from QCD background using statistical pattern recognition techniques

AbstractAbstract
[en] This work describes a fast neutron spectrometer using a stilbene crystal as head detector with pulse shape discrimination (P.S.D.) to reject gamma background. Tre experimental procedure involves the P.S.D., the measurements to calibrate the spectrometer and the corrections for several factors, mainly the non-linear response of the stilbene. Results of the measurements with the reaction D2(d,n)He3, and with an Am-Be neutron source are presented. It is also presented the measurement of the spectrum of the fast reactor CCRAl-1. AbstractAbstract
[en] A single μ-trigger in forward direction is not feasible. Muon detection in forward direction is not possible without an additional shielding around the CALCOM. Any muon detector behind the CALCOM has to be supplied with a fast decision logic to determine the track direction. From what has been discussed it is clear that the problems are at least as severe for μ-detection behind the Roman Calorimeter that covers angles up to 2.50 at a distance of 11.5 m to 13.5 m from the vertex

AbstractAbstract
[en] The Compressed Baryonic Matter experiment (CBM) at the future Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) is a a fixed-target setup operating at very high interaction rates up to 10 MHz. The high rate capability can be achieved with fast and radiation hard detectors equipped with free-streaming readout electronics. A high-speed data acquisition (DAQ) system will forward data volumes of up to 1 TB/s from the CBM cave to the first level event selector (FLES), located 400 m apart. This presentation showcases recent developments of DAQ components for CBM. We highlight the anticipated DAQ setup for beam tests scheduled for the end of 2015.
