AbstractAbstract
[en] A facility for the production of 10 MeV polarized neutrons was designed and built. Neutron polarization and cross section can be measured over an angular range of 2-100 deg. This facility has been used to measure the polarization and cross section of 10 MeV neutrons scattered from Pb and Bi in an angular range of 1.5 to 65 deg. For small angles no significant difference was found in the results for Pb and Bi. DWBA calculations using only the nuclear and Mott-Schwinger ineractions give good agreement with the data. Comparison of the experimental results with predictions using three different global optical potentials proved that the Becchetti and Greenlees potential can best describe both the differential cross section and polarization in the scattering of 10 MeV neutrons from heavy elements. AbstractAbstract
[en] The polarization of the photon beams produced by high energy electrons channeled in the crystallographic planes is calculated in the constant field approximation using the synchrotron radiation formulae. Some methods for the measurement of the polarization at photon energies greater than 100 GeV are considered. An experimental arrangement is suggested for obtaining and monitoring polarized photon beams at such energies. 19 refs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The author found that the perturbed spin tune due to the imperfection resonance plays an important role in beam depolarization at snake resonances. The author also found that even order snake resonances exist in the overlapping intrinsic and imperfection resonances. Due to the perturbed spin tune shift of imperfection resonances, each snake resonance splits into two

AbstractAbstract
[en] A scheme for optical bistability (OB) is proposed, in which the atom is in a four-level tripod configuration and driven by a single elliptically polarized light. It is demonstrated that the behaviors of OB can be controlled efficiently by adjusting the system parameters appropriately. Moreover, phase-controlled OB can be realized as well. (paper)
