AbstractAbstract
[en] Research on exoelectron emission phenomena led on to the study of an exoelectron 'reader'. The measurement system includes a proportional counter supplied by adjustable high tension (3000 volts). The pulses from this counter are transmitted by an impedance adapter preamplifier to a counting scaler and ictometer and the output data recorded as a function of time. The sample temperature variation must be linear with time. It is piloted by a digital method which solves in an original way the linearity and drift problems of analog systems. Heating rates between 0.1 deg C sec-1 and 10 deg C sec-1 are selected from contrave type coding wheels and the heating is governed by a digital-analog converter. The sample temperature variation can be followed from a 'temperature' information output. Furthermore the heating element for the material studied is controlled through a furnace curve correction circuit by which the furnace resistance variation may be corrected as a function of temperature

AbstractAbstract
[en] The CMS electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL) comprises 75848 scintillating lead tungstate crystals. 61200 crystals are contained in the ECAL Barrel section and are read out by avalanche photodiode (APD) with internal gain of about 50. This gain is achieved with a high voltage (HV) of about 400 Volts. The gain stability requirement implies a supply voltage stable to within 0.01%. We describe our experience with the installed Barrel HV power supply system, which has been used for data taking since 2008.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The Micro Vertex Detector (MVD) is the innermost tracking detector of the P-bar ANDA (antiProton Annihilation at Darmstadt) experiment at the upcoming FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) facility in Darmstadt. The detector consists of four barrel and six disk layers of silicon pixel and strip sensors to obtain precise tracking of charged particles. For the development of a front-end ASIC a flexible and powerful readout system was designed to test different ASIC prototypes. We will present the upgrade of the FPGA-based Jülich Digital Readout System and measurements of the recent MVD pixel front-end prototype ToPix3. Tests of the implementation of the radiation hard GBT transfer protocol are also shown.
