AbstractAbstract
[en] This draft regulatory guide provides guidance on the format and content of a Topical Safety Analysis Report (TSAR) for a spent fuel storage cask. There is no regulation that requires the submittal of a TSAR for spent fuel storage casks. However, is a specific cask were approved by the NRC for storage of spent fuel, the TSAR on that cask could be referenced other safety analyses. Applicants for license under Part 72 could use this information in their SAR. This would greatly reduce the cost and effort of developing an SAR. Casks used for storage of spent fuel on a reactor site could be those used for shipping spent fuel or could be those designed for storage only. Casks used for shipping must be licensed under 10 CFR Part 71, ''Packaging and Transportation of Radioactive Material,'' which requires stringent quality assurance and cask testing. Casks used for shipping or for storae only sould be approved by the NRC if their safety is demonstrated

AbstractAbstract
[en] This document describes the Atomic Energy Control Board's (AECB) approach to the development and preparation of regulatory documents. The principal factors that have shaped the AECB'a regulatory approach are identified as background to the evolution of regulatory documents as are a number of current influences that affect the present and future development of these documents. Also described are the process by which regulatory documents are prepared and published and the points of contact between this process and the Canadian Standards Association program for nuclear standards. AbstractAbstract
[en] A consolidated radioisotope licence is a single license issued by the Atomic Energy Control Board (AECB) to an institution having many users of radioactive materials. The licence is issued when the institution has fulfilled the requirements set by the AECB and has implemented policies and procedures which will ensure the maintenance of an effective radiation safety program. The consolidated licence is retained only if the results of AECB inspections are satisfactory -- or remedial action is taken promptly -- and if the institution reports regularly about the status of its radiation safety program. One aspect of this reporting procedure is an annual report. This guide describes the information that the AECB requires in the annual report. The guide applies primarily to universities and research institutions where a wide variety of radioisotope uses take place. The guide does not affect most other institutions or facilities, either because the nature and extent of their operations with radioactive materials do not lend themselves to consolidated licensing or because they are not licensed by the Radioisotopes and Transportation Division. (For example, this guide does not apply to reactors, to accelerators, or to waste management or uranium mining or refining facilities.) The information in the annual report should be specific to the consolidated radioisotope licence. Incidents, staff exposures, and waste associated with accelerators, research reactors, and waste management facilities should be excluded from this report unless they affected activities under the consolidated licence

[en] This guide is not intended to impose additional reporting requirements or to implement existing requirements. The purposes of this guide are: (1) to provide a compilation of reporting requirements applicable to the various types of NRC licensees and other persons subject to NRC regulations; and (2) to provide information that would assist in the timely and correct distribution of the reports

[en] The Title List of Documents Made Publicly Available is a monthly publication. It describes the information received and published by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). This information includes: (1) docketed material associated with civilian nuclear power plants and other uses of radioactive materials and (2) non-docketed material received and published by NRC pertinent to its role as a regulatory agency. This series of documents is indexed by a Personal Author Index, a Corporate Source Index, and a Report Number Index
