AbstractAbstract
[en] A coagulated rotating helical joint providing gas and liquid tightness along a rotating shaft, comprising: a metal sleeve connected to the wall through which passes the rotating sleeve, an intermediate sleeve made of a fusible material, inert with respect to the fluid to be sealingly retained, and finally the rotating shaft provided with an engraved helical thread in register with the intermediate sleeve. Means are provided for regulating the intermediate sleeve temperature so that a thin melted film is formed on said intermediate sleeve when in contact with the rotating threaded shaft. This can be applied in the nuclear industry, including cases when the intermediate sleeve is constituted by the fluid itself, then in the solid state

AbstractAbstract
[en] This study examined the static characteristics of a spool valve with a hybrid lap between the spool land and the sleeve. The static equation for the pressure characteristics was derived from flow equations that depend on the spool displacement, and the final model was derived from qa=qb=0 because the pressure characteristics test needs to block the control port in the valve. The static equation for the flow characteristics was derived from the pressure characteristics when the control port is open (qa=qb, pa=pb). The characteristic equation in the shifted region was assumed from the proportional relationship between the pressure-flow characteristics and the spool displacement

AbstractAbstract
[en] An improved fuel assembly is described as consisting of a sleeve that engages one end of a control rod guide tube essentially fixing the guide tube to one of the fuel assembly end structures. The end of the sleeve protrudes above the surface of the end fitting. The outer surface of the sleeve has a peripheral groove that engages the resilient sides of a cellular grid or lattice shaped lock. This lock fixes the sleeve in position between the various elements that comprise the end fitting, thereby eliminating a profusion of costly and potentially troublesome nuts, threaded studs and the like that are frequently employed in the fuel assemblies that are presently in use

AbstractAbstract
[en] The influence of radial shaft wobble and misalignment of the sleeve and shaft axes on the onset of leakage in a shaft–sleeve joint is considered. By dimensional analysis, using a multifactorial experiment, a method is developed for determining the minimum functional tightness in the shaft–sleeve joint in terms of leakage onset.

AbstractAbstract
[en] Carcinoid tumors are special group of neuroendocrine tumors and have better prognosis then in other malignancies. 5 years survival is 91 % and 10 years survival is 83 %. Surgical treatment is essential for these tumors and radical remove of them is needed. Special operations is sleeve resection / lobectomy, pneumonectomy/ and bronchoplast. These operations are radical and do not compromise oncological principles of treatment. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Means for preventing chip penetration of fractured ceramic fuel into the cladding of a fast spectrum nuclear reactor fuel element is disclosed. Included in the fuel element external to the pellet column but internal of the cladding is a woven cylinder or web of fine wire or of bandage wrapped metallic ribbons. The cylindrical web acts to retain ceramic chips in their positions so that they do not become lodged between the pellets and the clad: which condition could lead to clad failure

AbstractAbstract
[en] Due to environmental issues, the development of low energy consumption products has become one of the main topics in the home appliance industry. The energy consumption of a refrigerator depends on the efficiency of its compressor as well as on the refrigerator cycle design, such as the capacity modulation. This study features the design of a novel capacity modulation reciprocating compressor, i.e., two-step capacity modulation (TCM). In a TCM compressor, capacity modulation is achieved by changing the dead volume in the cylinder. Instead of a concentric sleeve, an eccentric sleeve is used to change the dead volume for the clockwise and counterclockwise rotation of a motor. For stable capacity modulation, a new latching system with a key, a spring, and an eccentric sleeve is introduced, and the mode change reliability is verified by dynamic analysis
