AbstractAbstract
[en] A brief information is given on the development of economic management and processing of economic information in the Nuclear Power Research Institute (VUJE) at Trnava, implemented in 1989. The economic management model of the Institute has a positive impact on the fulfillment of economic indicators. When applying this model, activities of individual divisions are emphasized and presentation of the Institute as a global professional capacity is suppressed. It will therefore be necessary to look for such system elements that in the future will have a positive effect on the integrity of the Institute. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The position, role, tasks and organizational structure of the Nuclear Safety Authority of the Slovak Republic are outlined. The Authority is responsible for state surveillance over nuclear safety of nuclear facilities including surveillance over radioactive waste management, over spent fuel management and other stages of the fuel cycle, as well as over nuclear materials including their accountancy and recording. The body is also responsible for assessing projects within the nuclear energy use programme and the quality of selected nuclear technological facilities and instrumentation, as well as for Slovak commitments and obligations under international agreements concerned with nuclear safety of nuclear facilities and with radioactive wastes. AbstractAbstract
[en] The purpose of this study was to test a method for 99Tc determination in soil samples from locality Bratislava Podunajske Biskupice by using solid phase extraction technique with a new sorbent AnaLigR Tc-02-molecular recognition technology product. The method is suitable for analyzing soil samples in a relatively short time and high recoveries. The use and effectiveness of AnaLigR Tc-02 were successfully tested by analysis of soil and spiked soil samples. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Two separation techniques for strontium determination using AnaLigR Sr01 molecular recognition technology and extraction chromatography SrR resin were tested. The methods performance was investigated by analysis of NPL (High Alpha-Beta 2003) intercomparison sample. The results obtained for both procedures were compared in terms of activities and recoveries. Data analysis proved a good agreement with the reference values. The AnaLigR Sr01 separation method for 90Sr determination was successfully validated with the same performance as the SrR resin method. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The sorption of copper on synthetic hydroxyapatite was investigated using a batch method and radiotracer technique. The hydroxyapatite sample prepared by a wet precipitation process was of high crystallinity with Ca/P ratio of 1.688. The sorption of copper on hydroxyapatite was pH independent ranging from 4 to 6 as a result of buffering properties of hydroxyapatite. The adsorption of copper was rapid and the percentage of Cu sorption was >98% during the first 15-30 min of the contact time. The experimental data for sorption of copper have been interpreted in the term of Langmuir isotherm. The sorption of Cu2+ ions was performed by ion-exchange with Ca2+ cations on the crystal surface of hydroxyapatite under experimental conditions. The competition effect of Zn2+, Fe2+ and Pb2+ towards Cu2+ sorption was stronger than that of Co2+, Ni2+ and Ca2+ ions. The ability of the bivalent cations to depress the sorption of copper on hydroxyapatite was in the following order Pb2+ > Fe2+ > Zn2+ > Co2+ ∼ Ni2+. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The present situation in emergency planning in the Slovak Republic is presented. Based on experience of countries with highly developed nuclear power as well as on IAEA recommendations, it was decided to establish an Emergency Response Centre of the Slovak Nuclear Regulatory Authority. The UK Government provided consultancy, expert and financial assistance. The Centre was opened on April 11, 1995. The organization chart of the emergency planning in the Slovak Republic is given including the supporting emergency measures. (Z.S.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Two commercial products-molecular recognition technology (MRT) product AnaLigRTc-02 gel and extraction chromatography TEVAR resin were successfully tested for the separation of 99Tc. The results obtained for both procedures were compared in terms of activities and recoveries. The demonstrated linear model clearly proves that the residua fulfill the Gaussian model, without any autocorrelation and trend for NPL Alpha-Beta high 2003 intercomparison reference sample. (author)
