[en] The measurement of σ_I is known to be a good tool to study exotic nuclei such as neutron-halo and neutron-skin nuclei. The interaction cross sections (σ_I) for "2"2"-"3"5Na isotopes from the stability line to the vicinity of the neutron drip line have been measured at around 240 MeV/nucleon. The σ_I for "3"3"-"3"5Na were measured for the first time. Enhancement in cross sections is clearly observed from the systematics for stable nuclei, for isotopes with large mass numbers. From the known values of the nuclear-deformation parameters β_2 of "2"2"-"3"1Na, these enhancement can be mainly ascribed to the nuclear deformation. Large enhancement in heavier isotopes suggest that these nuclei are strongly deformed. The root-mean-square (RMS) nuclear matter radii were deduced from σ_I by using Glauber-type calculation. Furthermore, a monotonic growth of the neutron-skin thickness has been deduced with increasing neutron number for Na isotopes. (authors)

[en] The interaction cross-sections (σ_I) of neutron-rich Na isotopes, ^23-35Na, on C target have been measured at 250 A MeV using the RI beam factory (RIBF) at RIKEN. Mass dependence of σ_I for ^27-35Na suggests monotonic growth of the skin thickness. The root-mean-square nuclear matter radii (r(bar)_m) of ^23-35Na were deduced from observed σ_I via a Glauber-type calculation. These r(bar)_m are in a good agreement with the theoretical prediction by relativistic mean field model (RMF). r(bar)_m of ^33-35Na were determined for the first time. (authors)
