AbstractAbstract
[en] A new calibration in BVRI is given for the Stobie et al. CCD stellar sequence F117-11. These observations were calibrated using Graham's photoelectric sequence near the spiral galaxy NGC 300. This paper shows that the V magnitude of the standard stars in F117-11 are on average 0.102 ± 0.010 magnitudes brighter than given in Stobie et al. which had used magnitude zero point corrections up to 0.1 magnitudes. The usefulness of this new calibration of F117-11 is demonstrated by showing that a good set of color equations for the BVRI filters of the European Southern Observatory Faint Object Spectrograph and Camera (EFOSC) on the ESO 3.6-m telescope can be obtained with just 26 minutes of observation time

AbstractAbstract
[en] Multicolor photometric, spectroscopic and kinematic data are presented for a number of stars in the vicinity of the Sco OB1 association and its nuclear cluster NGC 6231. The derivation of the geometrical and physical parameters of the aggregates will be given in a forecoming discussion of the extensive amount of data available for this region of the southern sky

AbstractAbstract
[en] The study of star clusters occupies a central place in the interaction between astronomical observation and theory. The extensive and exponentially growing literature concerning star clusters makes the Catalogue of Star Clusters and Associations (CSCA) an indispensable research tool. The second edition of the CSCA was published in 1970. It contains bibliographical entries and basic information on each individual object from the year 1901 roughly up to 1967. Supplement 1 to the CSCA, which is now in the press and is scheduled to come out next spring, contains the supplementary data up to the end of 1973 on open and globular star clusters as well as on associations both in our Galaxy and in extragalactic objects.
