AbstractAbstract
[en] Describes induction motors having an outer squirrel-cage or slip-ring rotor driving the shaft, and an inner, free-running rotor with the function of compensating the reactive load of the stator. Investigates theoretically the suggestion that a superconducting inner rotor would also produce very high excitation, and enable the iron circuits to be dispensed with. (R.W.S.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A rotor flux state observer considering iron loss, for an Induction Motor (IM), is proposed. The aim of this proposal is to avoid detuning caused by the IM iron loss on a field-oriented control (FOC). An adaptive scheme for the KFe, a parameter that represents the IM iron loss, is also proposed. The main objective of this scheme is to improve the dynamic response of control by compensating the variations of iron losses due to possible variations in the stator core characteristics. Simulation results demonstrated that the observer and the adaptive scheme showed a good performance fulfilling then the objectives

AbstractAbstract
[en] In view of the failure of the stator lead line in a power plant with a short period of time operation, combined with field survey, macroscopic examination, elemental analysis, metallographic analysis, electron microscope analysis and other methods to carry out failure analysis. It is considered that the excess of impurity composition and the presence of inclusions in the raw materials of stator lead line lead to the increase of local resistance of stator leads, which is the main reason for the failure of burn loss. AbstractAbstract
[en] The article considers the solution of the problem of parameters optimization of special asynchronous electric drives. The solution of the problem will allow one to project and create special asynchronous electric drives for various industries. The created types of electric drives will have optimum mass-dimensional and power parameters. It will allow one to realize and fulfill the set characteristics of management of technological processes with optimum level of expenses of electric energy, time of completing the process or other set parameters. The received decision allows one not only to solve a certain optimizing problem, but also to construct dependences between the optimized parameters of special asynchronous electric drives, for example, with the change of power, current in a winding of the stator or rotor, induction in a gap or steel of magnetic conductors and other parameters. On the constructed dependences, it is possible to choose necessary optimum values of parameters of special asynchronous electric drives and their components without carrying out repeated calculations. AbstractAbstract
[en] A method for measuring the moment of inertia has been proposed. The dynamic model of stator current and load moment of inertia during the motor’s frequency speed control has been built. Research show that load moment of inertia and the max of stator current are submitting linear relationship, which means that moment of inertia can been calculated after the stator current during the motor’s frequency speed control has been measured. Finally, the linear relationship between the moment of inertia and the stator current has been proved with a series of experiment, therefore, the feasibility of the method has been validated. The method has a better repeatability while the repeatability error is 3%.However, by recalculating the experiment data with the math model, the result indicate that the maximum error is 39%.The main factors of the error are math model building error and the instrument uncertainty. In order to improve the precision of the moment of inertia measurement, research should be taken to build a more exact math model. (paper)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A conceptual design is presented for a nanoengine governor based on the end interfacial effect of two rotary nanotubes. The governor contains a thermal-driven rotary nanomotor made from double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNTs) and a coaxially laid out rotary nanotube near one end of the nanomotor rotor. The rotation of the rotor in the nanomotor can be controlled by two features. One is the stator (the outer tube of DWCNTs) which has some end atoms with inward radial deviation (IRD) on the stator. The other is the relative rotation of the neighboring rotary tube of the rotor. As the configuration of the stator is fixed, the end interfacial interaction between the two rotors will govern the dynamic response of the rotor in the nanomotor system. The obtained results demonstrate that the relative rotational speed between the two rotors provides friction on the rotor in the nanomotor system. In particular, higher relative rotational speed will provide lower friction on rotor 1, which is opposite to that between neighboring shells in DWCNTs. (paper)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A detailed component development program is followed in which the critical components necessary to achieve superconducting generators for central power plant applications are discussed. The stator concept is described and illustrated. Its development is described and the armature bar and assembly are illustrated. Future (1981) tests are projected. The overall design of the 20-MVA superconducting generator is summarized in two tables, one of principal dimensions and the other of computed parameters

AbstractAbstract
[en] The purpose of this paper is the experimental research of the magnetic losses in electrical steels, soft magnetic alloys and amorphous alloys in the wide range of the magnetization reversal frequency and magnetic induction. The comparison between different analytical calculation methods of the stator-core specific losses is presented. The article shows that the known methods with the sufficient accuracy allows the stator-core-specific-loss calculation at frequencies below 400 Hz. However, the discrepancy with the calculations of losses by the different methods at the higher frequencies (above 400 Hz) can reach 2 times. The experimental research at high frequencies showed the 2-3-time discrepancy between the calculated and experimental data. (paper)
