AbstractAbstract
[en] The design study compares the network operating conditions for conventional and for superconducting transformers. The results indicate that high-Tc superconducting transformers require short-circuit current limitation by way of high-Tc superconducting switches. This would permit the short-circuit voltage of the transformers to be indefinitely low. Another task investigated in the study is prevention of core losses, and a draft design is presented of a coreless high-Tc superconducting transformer, whose windings are placed in coaxial cable wound up to form a toroidal coil. The parameters are given that determine the dimensioning, operating behaviour, and applications of such a transformer. (orig.)

(orig.)Original Title
