AbstractAbstract
[en] The present study has determined BUN, createinine, c-AMP and PGE2 activities as a clinical signs of radiation toxicity caused by uranylnitrate in rats. The significant increasing of PGE2 concentration in plasma between the administration of uranylnitrate and lead nitrate were shown radiotoxic in nature on the effect of radiation energy. The reduction of PGE activities in plasma in uranylnitrate treated rats after furosemide, aldosterone and glucagone I.P. administration have observed the stimulating effect of uranium excretion into cells. AbstractAbstract
[en] Production of uranium metal from pure uranyl nitrate hexahydrate was conducted. Wet method to produce UF4 which include ammonium diuranate, uranous sulphate as intermediates was done. UF4 obtained was reduced by 15-20 percent excess calcium metal granular in a steel bomb lined with pure fluorspar. Reduction was initiated by heating the loaded bomb in an electric furnace at about 900 degree C. Uranium metal product most of which was fine powder embedded in the slag only some found in granular form, has purify of 99.46 percent with trace of iron and calcium fluoride found as impurities, the contents were 91.4 and 200 ppm respectively. Granular and powder uranium metal which was removed from slag by grinding and sieving could be remelted by non transfer plasma flame. The uranium metal button obtained was found to have a density of greater than 18.10 g/cm3

AbstractAbstract
[en] Densities of a large number of mixed uranyl nitrate-thorium nitrate solutions were measured with pycnometer. By the least squares analysis of the experimental result, an empirical formula for determining water content of mixed uranyl nitrate-thorium nitrate solutions as functions of uranium concentration, thorium concentration and nitric acid normality is derived; W=1.0-0.3580 Cu-0.4538 CTh-0.0307H+ where W, Cu, CTh, and H+ stand for water content(g/cc), uranium concentration (g/cc), thorium concentration(g/cc), and nitric acid normality, respectively. Water contents of the mixed uranyl nitrate-thorium nitrate solutions are calculated by using the empirical formular, and compared with the values calculated by Bouly's equation in which an additional data, solution density, is required. The two results show good agreements within 2.7%. (Author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The present work involves the filtration of impure uranyl nitrate solutions by different filter aids such as kieselguhr, celite and bleaching clay. The retention of substances contained in uranyl nitrate solution was determined using the three filter aids. A study of the effects of granulometry and filter earths treatment (thermal and chemical) on the filtration rate was performed
