On the behaviour and measurement of thoron (220Rn) in soil

Description

A closed circuit technique for the measurement of thoron (220Rn) as well as radon (222Rn) in the soil gas for prospecting for uranium has been described. The apparatus has been calibrated and applied to the study of the variations of thoron and radon in the soil for about six months in different seasons in the laboratory premises. Measurements have also been carried out in some field areas and the results have been discussed. (auth.)
