[en] Data on shipments within or from 35 Member States of the IAEA have been used to estimate the volume of radioactive material shipments worldwide. The data have been extrapolated on the basis of gross domestic product and population, and it is estimated that from 18 to 38 million package shipments were made annually in the early 1980s. (author)
