Nuclear power station construction in Switzerland during 1974
Creators
Description
Despite the important contribution made by the Beznau I and II (each 350 MW) and Muhlberg (306 MW) nuclear power stations, opposition to the construction of further power stations and adverse publicity on the safety aspects and difficulties encountered on some nuclear power stations outside Switzerland have delayed the Swiss programme of nuclear power station construction. Brief details are given of the progress made in 1974 on the Goesgen-Daeniken (920 MW, expected in commission in Spring 1977), Leibstadt (942MW, expected in commission in Winter 1979/80 and Graben I (1140 MW) and on the Ruthi, Verbois and Inwil projects.
