AbstractAbstract
[en] The effect of niobium carbide (1,3,5 volumetric per cent) on grinding into powder the shavings of high-speed stell R18 is studied. Introductin of niobium carbide positively affects the grinding process: the more is the content of niobium carbide, the higher is the rate of grinding. The conditions of moulding and sintering of the powder (obtained with addition of niobium carbide) of high-steel are determined. When moulding a 7 - 8 t/cm2 with addition of plasticizer,it becomes possible to produce tough briquettes with the relative density of 68 - 73%. The increase of the NbC content somewhat reduces the relative density of the briquette (by 2 - 3% per 1% of NbC) moulded at the same pressure. When sintering the powder at a temperature of 1250 deg C within 60 min in the presence of finely-dry hydrogen, the relative dencity of the blanks amounts to 95%. The microstructure of the powder blanks is similar to the microstructure of standart cast steel R18,but the carbide grains are more fine and uniformly distributed. Addition of niobium carbide results in the reduction carof size of the austenitic grains and in the increae of hardness of sintered high-speed steel from 59 HRC (without addition of NbC) to 65 HRC (with addition of 5 volumetric per cent of NbC)
