[en] After explaining the uranium/thorium decay and the penetrating force of gamma radiation, the author discusses problems of radiometric prospecting: The different chemical properties of uranium and its decay products, borehole logging, prospecting in case of ice and snow, prospecting for ore rocks among granite rocks in glacial sedimentary areas, effects and detection of radon in the ground and in the atmosphere.
