AbstractAbstract
[en] A high resolution, large solid angle and broad range magnetic spectrometer was constructed and has been used successfully in charged particle reaction studies. It consists of a quadrupole magnet and two dipole magnets. There is no intermediate vertical focusing like QDDD spectrometer. The spectrometer is characterized by a relatively small dispersion (2.78) and small horizontal magnification (-0.37), the same maximum resolving power as QDDD spectrometer (p/Δp=10 000) being still retained. The maximum solid angle is 6.4 msr. The kinetic broadening is compensated by the shift of the detector position. The measured performances were found to be almost the same as those of the original design because one could calculate the magnetic field distributions very precisely before the construction. (Auth.)
