AbstractAbstract
[en] A fusion reactor based on the idea of the Heliotron confinement method was considered, and the survey of the engineering parameters was performed. The considered reactor core type is assumed to be catalyzed D plasma, and the reactions considered are D(d, p)t, D(d, n)3He, D(t, n)4He and D(3He, p)4He. The particle balance equations for plasma ions are introduced, and the relations among the reaction rates of concerned reactions were obtained. The equations of energy balance for plasma ions and electrons are also introduced. A geometrical parameter γ was defined on the basis of the Heliotron configuration. Engineering parameters, I sub(h) (helical coil current), P sub(th) (total thermal output power), P sub(wn) (neutron wall surface load), P sub(WR) (radiative wall surface load) and others were obtained. It is found that the actual wall surface load is very small. The parameters for a tokamak type reactor were also obtained, and compared with the parameters for a Heliotron type reactor. The size of the tokamak type reactor with circular cross section will be larger than that of the Heliotron type reactor. (Kato, T.)
