AbstractAbstract
[en] Using the method of growth of cadmium sulphide large crystals from the gas phase without contact with walls of a quartz ampoule one can grow single crystals with a given crystallographic orientation, if a single crystal plate of cadmium sulphide on a sapphire support is used to initiate crystallization. High purity, structural perfection, and good reproducibility of the growth process are attained in this method, and the yield of single crystals is close to 100 per cent. The maximum diameter of grown crystals amounts to 38 mm, and maximum length to 40 mm
