AbstractAbstract
[en] Thermal electron emission of the (La, Y, Sc)B6 alloys are studied. The work function was measured on powder compact samples in dynamic vacuum of 10-7 - 10-8 torr over the temperature range from 1300 to 1900 K. It is stated that the work function increases with partial replacement of metal atoms in lanthanum hexaboride by yttrium and scandium. Even an insignificant content of scandium produces passivation effect on the emission of a lanthanum hexaboride cathode
