AbstractAbstract
[en] 20 - 100 mg of Dexa Scheroson was used to treat thyroid crisis (5 cases) occurred after administration of 131I to hyperthyroidism and to prevent side effects of 198Au colloid injected intraperitoneally for cancerous peritonitis (3 cases). This drug was also used to treat iodine shock (2 cases) occurred when using contrast medium containing iodine for diagnosis and to prevent iodine shock (5 cases). Dexa Scheroson was effective in 14 of 15 cases, and side effects were not recognized in any cases. One case which was unresponsive to this drug had asystole caused by thyroid crisis occurred suddenly after administration of 131I. Dexa Scheroson was thought to prevent onset of radiation fibrosis due to intraperitoneal injection of 198Au colloid. Effectiveness of Dexa Scheroson was certified in each case. (Serizawa, K.)
