AbstractAbstract
[en] The description of a new 136 MeV electron linac to be installed at Harwell on the base of the 45 MeV linac is presented. The accelerator is basically a four module L-band machine. Each module consists of two 2 meter long accelerating sections driven by a klystron rated at 20 MW maximum peak power and 40 kW mean power. The electron pulse duration and frequency are variable between 5 ns at 1000 pps maximum and 5 μs at 300 pps maximum. The beam current is guaranteed to be at least 6 A during short pulses and 0.6 A during long pulses. The maximum neutron energy will be pushed up from 5 MeV to 30 MeV. A brief description of the experimental target facilities is presented. The layout of fast neutron and condensed matter target cells is given. The main characteristics of neutron booster target, low energy target and irradiation targets are presented
