AbstractAbstract
[en] The structure of liquid cadmium and indium was studied near the melting point in molybdenum Ksub(α)-radiation. Diffractometers of two types with a sufficienly high resolution and the most perfect procedures for sample centring, choice of the equipment operating conditions and mathematical processing of the experimental data were used. The measuring error in the structural parameters is estimated. Discussion was based on models using the types of packings of the known crystal lattices. This made it possible to describe the structure by a set of three types of packings and to show that the difference in the structures of liquid cadmium and indium is accounted for the existence of the packings similar to the initial crystal lattice and similarity by the presence of the packings similar to those of the BCC, BCT type lattices and low-coordination ordinary cubic one. Only under this conditions all the experimental parameters proved to be in a goos agreement
