[en] A new type of ion source capable of providing multicharged uranium ions during several hours: plasma created from uranium oxide in an arc oven (PIG type) centered inside a magnetic field (3000 gauss), diffuses along the field axis towards a confining enclosure in which a cyclotron electron resonance heats the electron component of the plasma; the acquired energy makes it possible for the electrons to multiply ionize the species. The mean current distribution measured for the different charge states of uranium and oxygen is given. The U/O atomic ratio remains approximately equal to 1/2 that confirms the dissociation of the UO2 molecule

On a realise un nouveau type de source d'ions susceptible de fournir pendant quelques heures des ions multiplement charges d'uranium: un plasma cree a partir d'oxyde d'uranium par un four a arc (type PIG) centre dans un champ magnetic (3000 gauss), diffuse suivant l'axe du champ vers une enceinte de confinement dans laquelle une resonance cyclotronique des electrons chauffe la composante electronique du plasma; grace a l'energie acquise, les electrons peuvent ioniser multiplement les especes. On donne la repartition moyenne du courant mesure pour les differents etats de charge de l'uranium et de l'oxygene. On constate que le rapport U/O exprime en atomes reste voisin de 1 /2 ce qui confirme que la molecule UO2 a bien ete dissocieeOriginal Title
