AbstractAbstract
[en] A study of simultaneous fluxes of He and H nuclei (Z >= 10) near the earth has been made at three levels of solar activity. Measurements have been made in three nuclear emulsion stacks exposed over Fort Churchill (Canada) in 1963, 1964 and 1967. A total of 1514 He nuclei tracks and 701 H nuclei comprises the experimental data. After applying suitable corrections, the differential energy spectra of these nuclei on top of the atmosphere have been obtained. Detailed computer calculations, have been made and the theoretical local interstellar and near-earth cosmic ray spectra have been obtained. The local interstellar differential energy spectra of He, M and H nuclei show broad maxima at kinetic energies of about 100 MeV/n, 150 MeV/n and 200 MeV/n respectively. The theoretical near-earth spectra agree reasonably well with the experimental results for the three years. The experimental results are not inconsistent with the hypothesis of charge independence of solar modulation. (author)
