AbstractAbstract
[en] The equilibrium of the HgBr2+HgI2=2HgBrI process in three solvents (water, benzene, and ethanol) has been studied spectrophotometrically and by measuring the optical density. The following values of the equilibrium constants have been obtained: lg K=0.58+- 0.06 (in water at an ionic strength of 0.001 mol/l); 0.7 at an ionic strength of 0.001 mol/l); 0.78+-0.05 (in benzene) and 0.73+-0.07 (in ethanol) at 20+-1 deg C. The results obtained permitted an assumption to be made that the solvation effect affects only slightly the equilibrium constant of the reaction
