[en] The cluster hydroxides [M6X12](OH)2 . 8 H2O with M = Nb, Ta; X = Cl, Br, have been prepared. The poor crystalline compounds could not be classified in any of the four general structure patterns of the niobium and tantalum halide compounds. Infrared spectra, magnetic and thermal behaviours of the compounds have been measured and discussed. (author)
