[en] Under gamma irradiation of meristematic root cells of field bean sprouts Vicia faba synchronized by cultivation in White growth medium without saccharobiose the ³H timidine incorporation into cell nuclei being beyond the replicative synthesis stage has been found. A number of weakly labelled cells was the largest after 10 and 50 kR irradiation and decreased after 100 kR irradiation. The effect remained under preirradiation cell treatment with oxyurea. Caffeine-the inhibitor of the DNA reparation synthesis-inhibited ³H timidine incorporation. The results obtained permit to believe, that in plant cells there is unscheduled DNA synthesis, qualitatively similar to the reparation DNA synthesis in mammal cells
