AbstractAbstract
[en] The studies were performed on 60 rabbits non-irradiated or irradiated with 400 or 800 R. All the rabbits were injected 125I i.v. and the thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) i.m. In irradiated animals injections were given 24 h or 5 d after irradiation. Non-irradiated rabbits showed an increased accumulation of iodine in the thyroid, while in irradiated animals iodine uptake was lower and depended on the radiation dose and time after irradiation.
