[en] For digital representation of the thickness value it is necessary to linearize the signal voltage. This is done by a special analog-to-digital converter with an RC network, the discharge curve of which exactly simulates the relationship between signal voltage and thickness. Typical errors are lower than approximately 5 per mille. The measuring time is greater than approximately 10 msec. (author)
