[en] An attempt is made on systematizing available experimental data on atomic capture of negative muons by cations and anions in chalcogenides epsilon Xsub(m)(X=O,S,Se,Te) and halides epsilon HaLsub(m)(HaL=F,Cl,Br,I) versus the charge state, group and period of the E element. The chemical increments calculated on the basis of experimental probabilities available in literature of the atomic captures of μ- and π--mesons in oxides, hydroxides, halides, peroxides and chalcogenides are presented. A number of regularities are obtained which are interpreted using the concept of the influence of the electronegativity and screening effect of inner shells
