[en] A simple method was developed of preparing trimesic acid labelled with deuterium on the benzene ring and with 14C in carboxyl groups. Deuterated carboxylic acids are used as the starting substances. They are heated in the form of sodium salts in the presence of a fluxing agent and catalysts to 400 to 500 degC under 14C-carbon dioxide atmosphere. Sodium halogenides may be used as the fluxing agent, cadmium and zinc salts were used as catalysts. (L.K.)
