AbstractAbstract
[en] The effect of electromagnetic field applied during welding on crystallization in the welding bath has been studied. The investigations employed NP2 nickel samples completely melted under argon by a non-melting electrode. The changes in the structure of the solidifying metal were observed. Whatever the parameters of the magnetic field were, its effect was to increase the stability of the flat crystallization front by a factor of 1.5-2.6, and to promote formation of fine-grained initial structure. The size of the crystallite structural elements depended on induction of the magnetic field
