AbstractAbstract
[en] The chemical composition of the phases and their distribution over the volume of ingots of 440 and 770 mm diameter were investigated with the aim to establish the limits of rational alloying of the titanium VT3-1 alloy. The investigation was carried out by means of X-ray spectral and X-ray structural analysis. It is shown that the content of the β-phase in similar portions of ingots of different diameters is approximately the same, but the concentration of molybdenum, chromium, and iron in the β-phase of a billet of 440 mm diameter is lower than in the β phase of the same zone of the 770 mm billet. The content of alloying elements in the β-phase of the central zone of the ingots is three times as high as on the periphery. The principal alloying element in the α-phase is amolinium
