AbstractAbstract
[en] Studies were made to elucidate the effect of zirconium, tin, iron, and sulphur impurities on mechanical properties of high-purity copper in the range of testing temperatures from -196 to 1000 deg C on the temperature of the beginning of its recrystallization and its structure. It is shown that sulphur and iron impurities at the concentration investigated (0.001 at.%) considerably deepen and expand the zone of anomalous plasticity of copper. The effect of zirconium and tin in amounts of 0.001 at.% is insignificant. The ultimate strength is not affected by the indicated additions. The metallic impurities studied, in concentrations up to 0.001 at.%, practically do not change the grain growth kinetics. A sulphur impurity, on the contrary, appreciably inhibits colective recrystallization due to the increase in the activation energy of this process. The results of the investigation into the grain growth kinetics agree with the assumption of the role of grain boundary migration as the main factor determining the temperature of going out of copper from the state of anomalous plasticity
