AbstractAbstract
[en] The B-5 synchrotron for producing accelerated proton beams up to 200 MeV and multicharged ions up to 50 MeV/nucleon is described. The synchrotron is a weak focusing accelerator with four 56 cm long rectangular gaps. Equilibrium orbit radius is 1.4 m. Magnet aperture is 3.6x11.0 cm2. Electron-ray source with a borid-lanthanum cathode is used as a multicharged ion source. 109 particle/s-1 ions up to Ar+18 are assumed to produce by the source. As a source of protons the proton source with the Penning type discharge, with a cold cathode, of 10 mA intensity and 7x10-3 cmxrad emittance, providing 1010 particle/pulse acceptance into the synchrotron is used. A high-frequency pulse linear accelerator with a drift tube is used as an injector. All the accelerator devices have been fabricated; their rig tests are being conducted
