AbstractAbstract
[en] The applications of induction-linac technology to D-T pellet ignition are presented. Conceptual designs for accelerator-igniter systems are developed. Relative advantages of the different approaches are reviewed. Applications of induction-linac technology (non-resonant accelerating structure) to pellet ignition are discussed. Several beam-current limiting phenomena are outlined. Brief studies for a choice of a suitable injector for the induction linac to produce a pulse-length of 2 μs are presented. Some non-resonant structures which are able to accelerate the entire beam charge at currents of 10 kA without voltage drop are shown
