AbstractAbstract
[en] The status and the main features of the SOR-400 MeV electron storage ring are described. The SOR-RING is composed of eight bending magnets with the field index n approximately equal to 0.4, eight straight sections, a septum magnet for injection, a pertubator magnet, RF cavity and a roughing pump station. The machine is of separated function type, which favors the tunability of operating points. The electron source for injection is the 1.3 GeV electron synchrotron. The injection is repeated by one pulse per second, and the filling time for 100 mA storage is 1 approximately 1.5 min. Current dependences of the beam lifetime and of the shift of the radial betatron number are presented. Four beam lines are attached for synchrotron radiation users. One ultraviolet and two soft X-ray spectrometers have been set up for materials research. One of the beam lines is dedicated for studies on the radiation effect in biological systems, the calibration of optical instruments, soft X-ray lithography. In the forthcoming period, the normal mode of operation will be in 360 MeV with 100 mA typical storage while the injection will be made at 300 MeV
