AbstractAbstract
[en] The development of the method of the Bragg peak modification for nonmonoenergetic proton beams for the scanning rotary irradiation of deep tumours is investigated. The method is based on the obtaining the energy proton spectrum with an achromatic magnetic system and a collimator located in the maximum dispersion region and adjusted to the transmission of particles of the required spectrum. The experiment is carried out with the 640 MeV proton beam of the JINR synchrocyclotron. With the proton beam frozen to the energy of 200 MeV the modified Bragg curve with a 5 g/cm2 flat peak which is followed by a sharp slump (about 1 g/cm2), has been obtained
