[en] The advantages of 241Am compared to other α-emitters for use in neutron sources for the calibration of dosemeters and dose-rate meters are discussed. Fluence-to-dose conversion factors for Am-Be, Am-11B and Am-10B sources were calculated using spectral measurements made by Werle (Karlsruhe Nuclear Research Centre Report INR-4170-25, 1970; ORNL translation 2415), and are compared with earlier results from the literature.
