AbstractAbstract
[en] The self-propagating high-temperature synthesis in the Ti-B-C system has been studied. To clarify the processes taking place in the case of the ternary system combustion, the combustion of Ti-C and Ti-B binary systems has been investigated separately. The combustion in the Ti-C-B system occurs in the temperature range of 3190-3520 K. It is shown that the main combustion product in the burnt mixture products, rich in boron, is monoboride, exactly as in carbonless products of the same composition; but the TiB2 diboride traces, which are absent in carbonless compositions are present here. Combustion rates of the above systems are measured
