AbstractAbstract
[en] The possibility of reducing the content of tungsten in a surfaced metal, such as a chromium-tungsten alloy Kh10V14 was investigated, while retaining its high resistance to abrasive wear. Samples surfaced with two layers were tested for wear, studied for microstructure, and determined were the hardness, the microhardness and chemical composition. The effect of carbon, chromium, tungsten, vanadium and titanium upon the abrasive wear of the above alloy was studied. It is shown that additional doping with vanadium and titanium enhances the resistance to abrasive wear, and the content of tungsten in the alloy then may be lowered to 7%. The resultant 400Kh9V7FT alloy, while retaining a high resistance to abrasive wear, is cheaper than the Kh10V14 alloy as it contains almost twice as less tungsten
