AbstractAbstract
[en] The relative efficiency of TL light production for α-particle irradiation as compared to γ-ray irradiation is studied for Li2B4O7:Mn and LiF TLD 700. Measurements are carried out with incident α-energies in the range of 1.7-4.7 MeV, using solid TLDs that were thick compared to the α-particle path lengths in the samples. For an incident α-energy of 4.7 MeV, the relative efficiencies are found to be 0.31 for Li2B4O7:Mn, 0.21 for LiF/ (glow curve area) and 0.11 for LiF/(peak height). The results are compared with relative α efficiencies of various TL phosphors reported by other investigators
