AbstractAbstract
[en] During the last decade a number of studies have been published, concerning the effects of aircraft crash on nuclear power plants, but very few of the studies have considered the equipment response. For earthquake loading it is common practice to develop floor response spectra as a basis for the verification of equipment. It is therefore natural to apply the same technique for the effects of aircraft crash and the present study investigates the dynamic response of the ASEA-ATOM BWR 75 reactor building in terms of response spectra at significant locations considering various aircraft and points of load application. The studied response may be termed global in contrast to the local effects very close to the point of impact where non-linear effects are dominant. Only the global effects are considered in this paper. (Auth.)
