AbstractAbstract
[en] Electronic units used in the time-of-flight system are described: a pulse shaper; a time-amplitude converter; a compact delay circuit and pulse discriminators. Lay-out and schematic diagrams are presented. The shaper operates on the Constant fraction principle. Its instability within the 200 mV-2 V range is +-100 ns. Zero detector of the shaper is performed as a discriminator with a hysteresis loop on a tunnel diode. The time-amplitude converter operates within the 25 ns-50 ns range at the 5 V output signal. The converter resolution is 8 ps, integral nonlinearity is 1.5%, temperature nonstability is 0.1% deg C. The logic delay circuit is intended for logic signal delaying in the range of 0-127 ns with the 1 ns step. It operates on the principle of signal delaying by a respective cable part with a successive reconstruction of a signal amplitude with a key cascade on the ECL scheme base
