[en] Absolute E0 and E2 transition rates in 116Sn have been measured using several newly developed techniques. Many E2 transitions are observed to have a collective character with B(E2) values of up to 60 W.u. The presence of deformed excited states in 116Sn is discussed in view of the results obtained.
