AbstractAbstract
[en] During the 1974 growing season, the Environmental Monitoring and Support Laboratory-Las Vegas, of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, collected samples of fruits and vegetables grown in the area surrounding the Nevada Test Site. The objective was to estimate the potential radiological dose to off-site residents from consumption of locally grown foodstuffs. It became necessary to collect additional samples for analysis of iron-55 and plutonium-238 and -239. This report compiles the results of the earlier study with these new results. No evidence was found of contamination of foods by these radioisotopes resulting from close-in fallout of radioactivity from nuclear testing at the Nevada Test Site
